I have been a long time lurker on many newgroups (although only an occasional poster), and I have often had to use web interfaces to usenet and been disappointed with the quality of interface available.
My aim is to make the best web interface I can for newsgroup access.
This project is small. Currently only around 400 newsgroups are serviced across a network of 40 websites, and the interface is improving, but I believe that it can go a lot further.
In my opinion, the best way to read and respond to newsgroups is with a newsreader however there are many situations where that is not possible, but I have yet to see a web interface that comes close to the features of a good newsreader which is where I believe this project can help bridge that gap.
This project is just getting under way, but I will add more of my thoughts and ideas here shortly.
